Special Tours
If you didn't manage to celebrate the anniversary of the King James Bible last year there is a final chance to do so with this special two day tour which is available on selected dates up until 10th March.
2 Day tour including a performance of Written on the Heart, the RSC's new and acclaimed play about the King James Bible.
This tour starts in London with a Bible translation walking tour in the one square mile of the City of London. We trace the story of bible translation from John Wcliffe to the King James Bible visiting related sites. Then travel by coach to Stratford upon Avon to see the Royal Shakespeare Company performing David Edgar's new play Written on the Heart at the Swan Theatre. The play examines how and why the KJV came about , its debt to William Tyndale and puts it all in the context of the religious struggles of the time. There are outstanding performances from Stephen Boxer as William Tyndale and Oliver Ford Davies as Bishop Lancelot Andrewes. Stay in a hotel in Stratford upon Avon and the next day enjoy a guided walking tour of this interesting town focusing on Shakespeare and visit his birthplace museum. Return to London by coach in the afternoon.
Early booking recommended as bookings are subject to availability of tickets and availability of the guide.
Performance dates in 2012 are January 4th, 5th,7th,10th, 20th,25th,26th,28th, February 16th, March 10th.
